Whether you are a runner or a walker, you need the right  espadrilles. When faced with a large wall of colorful jute shoes, the choices can be confusing and overwhelming. Many women make their choice based on style or color and not on fit or purpose. Your jute shoes can be as cute as can be, but if they fit improperly, they can cause problems from foot deformities to back and hip pain and more. How do you choose the right shoe for you?

Consider your feet

Get your feet measured, not only for length but also for width. If your athletic shoes are too loose, you may be more likely to form blisters or fall. If they are too tight, that causes problems, too. Many people think they know what size shoes they wear, because they have worn the same size for years, but things like pregnancy, weight fluctuations and age can cause your feet to change. Athletic shoes are also sized differently from one manufacturer to another, so be prepared to try on lots of shoes.

One of the most important things you must do is make sure the arch is in the right position. Everyone's arches are different, so just getting the size right does not ensure a proper fit in the arch. If you have a hard time finding shoes that fit properly, see a podiatrist and get custom orthotics which can help protect your feet and increase your comfort as you exercise.

Consider your budget

Jute shoes can be not quite expensive, especially if you are buying a top brand or need a specific type of shoe. However, if you think about how much you wear your jute shoes, and the impact they can have on your whole body, it may be worth the cost to go with a better shoe.

One thing you can do to find good quality athletic shoes on a budget is look for storewide sales. Shop with a friend and split the "buy one get one" discounts. Get friendly with the employees at your favorite store so you can find out when new shoe models come out, and then look to see if your size is suddenly on sale in last season's colors or styles.

Consider your activity

Espadrilles jute sole  shoes that are light weight and perfect for running are not necessarily right for hiking. Think about the activity you are doing. Sports like tennis and aerobics require quick changes in direction and lots of side-to-side motion. Running on a track or treadmill requires long strides with primarily forward motion. Hiking requires you to move your body on uneven surfaces in almost every direction.

When choosing an espadrilles, let the salesperson know what activity you will be doing so they can help you pick the right style for the movements your feet will be making. Don't get your heart set on the cute running shoes with the pink and yellow accents and try to force them to fit your hiking regimen. Form and function must trump style.
